The wicked shall be turned into hell, all the nations that forget God. Ps. 8: 18.

If thy hand scandalize thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed than having two hands to go into hell, into unquenchable fire: where their warm dies not, and the fire is not extinguished. Mark 9:42 f.

And If thy foot scandalize thee, cut it off. It is better for thee to enter lame into life everlasting, than having two feet, to be cast into the hell of unquenchable fire: where their worm dies not, and the fire Is not extinguished. Mark 9:44 f.

And if thy eye scandalize thee, pluck It out. It is better for thee with one eye to enter into the kingdom of God, than having two eyes, to be cast into the hell of fire: where their worm dies not, and the fire is not extinguished. Mark 9:46 f.

Whosoever was not found written in the book of life, was cast into the pool of fire. Apoc. 20: 15.

Therefore has hell enlarged her soul, and opened her mouth without any bounds, and their strong ones, and their people, and their high and glorious ones shall go down into it. Is. 5:14.

Let death come upon them, and let them go down alive into hell. For there is wickedness in their dwellings: in the midst of them. Ps. 54:16. [Modern translations use the word "shoel" here for hell.]

Fear ye not them that kill the rather fear him that can destroy both soul and body In hell. Mat. 10:28. [In the NAB the word hell is translated "Gehenna".]

And thou, Capharnaum, which art exalted unto heaven, thou shall be thrust down to hell. Luke 10:15. [The NAB has "netherworld" instead of hell. See footnote 7.]

I shook the nation with the sound of his fall, when I brought him down to hell with them that descend into the pit. Ez. 31:16.

Wide Is the gate, and broad Is the way that leads to destruction, and many there are who go in thereat. Mat. 7:13.

For they also shall go down with him to hell to them that are slain by the sword: and the arm of every one shall sit down under his shadow in the midst of the nations. Ez. 31:17.

To whom art thou like, 0 thou that art famous and lofty among the trees of pleasure? Behold, thou art brought down with the trees of pleasure to the lowest parts of the earth: thou shall sleep in the midst of the uncircumcised, with them that are slain by the sword: this is Pharaoh, and all his multitude, says the Lord God. Ez. 31:18.

The Lord knows how to deliver the godly from temptation, but to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be tormented. 2 Pet. 2:9.

Thou shall make them as an oven of fire, in the time of thy anger: the Lord shall trouble them in his wrath, and fire shall devour them. Ps. 20:10.

The most mighty among the strong ones shall speak to him from the midst of hell, they that went down with his I helpers, and slept uncircumcised, slain by the sword. And they shall not sleep with the brave, and with them that fell uncircumcised, that went down to hell with their weapons and laid their swords under their heads, and their iniquities were in their bones because they were the terror of the mighty in the land of the living. Ez. 32:21, 27. NIV.

Her house is the way to hell, reaching even to the inner chambers of death. Prov. 7:27.

He did not know that giants are there, and that her guests are in the depths of hell. Prov. 9: 18.

The path of life is above for the wise, that he may decline from the lowest hell. Prov. 15:24.

If thy hand or thy foot scandalize thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee. It is better for thee to go into life maimed or lame, than having two hands or two feet, to be cast into everlasting fire. Mat. 18:8.

If God spared not the angels that sinned: but delivered them, drawn down by infernal ropes to the lower hell unto torments to be reserved unto judgment. 2 Pet. 2:4.




Then he shall say to them also that shall be on his left hand: Depart from me, you cursed, into everlasting fire which was prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry, and you gave me not to eat: I was thirsty, and you gave me not to drink. Mat. 25:41 f.

He shall say to you: I know not whence you are: depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity. Luke 13:27.

They who obey not the gospel shall suffer eternal punishment In destruction, from the face of the Lord, and from the glory of his power. 2 Thess. 1:9.

He shall not see the glory of God. Is. 29: 10??, perhaps Is. 29:20.

It shall come to pass, that in that day the Lord shall visit upon the host of heaven on high, and upon the kings of the earth, on the earth. And they shall be gathered together as in the gathering of one bundle into the pit, and they shall be shut up there in prison. Is. 24:21 f.

The angels, who kept not their principality, but forsook their own habitation, he has reserved under darkness in everlasting chains, unto the judgment of the great day. Jude 6.

The congregation of sinners is like tow heaped together, and the end of them is a flame of fire. The way of sinners is made plain with stones, and in their end is hell, and darkness, and pains. He that keeps justice shall get the understanding thereof. Eccius.21:10-12.

I am counted among them that go down to the pit: I am become as a man without help, free among the dead. Like the slain sleeping in the sepulchers, whom thou remembers no more: and they are cast off from thy hand. They have laid me in the lower pit: in the dark places, and in the shadow of death. Ps. 87:5, 7. (NAB Ps. 88.)

Shall any one in the sepulcher declare thy mercy: and thy truth in destruction? Shall thy wonders be known in the dark: and thy justice in the land of forgetfulness? Ps. 87:12 f. (Ps 88:12.)

Lifting up his eyes when he was in torments, he saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom: and he cried, and said: Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, to cool my tongue, for I am tormented in this flame. Luke 16:23 f.

The unprofitable servant cast ye out into the exterior darkness. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Mat. 25:30.

There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth: when you shall see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out. Luke 13:28.

The children of the kingdom shall be cast out into the exterior darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Mat. 8:12.

They shall come with fear at the thought of their sins, and their iniquities shall stand against them to convict them. Wis. 4:20.

Wicked men said to God: Depart from us: and looked upon the Almighty as if he could do nothing: whereas he had filled their houses with good things: whose way of thinking be far from me. The just shall see, and shall rejoice, and the innocent shall laugh them to scorn. Is not their exaltation cut down, and has not fire devoured the remnants of them? Job 22: 17-20.

Many of those that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake: some unto life everlasting, and others unto reproach to see it always. Dan. 12:2.

Then shall the just stand with great constancy against those that have afflicted them. These seeing it, shall be troubled with terrible fear, saying within themselves, repenting, and groaning for anguish of spirit: These are they, whom we had some time in derision, and for a parable of reproach. Wis. 5:1-3.

We fools esteemed their life madness, and their end without honor. Behold how they are numbered among the children of God, and their lot is among the saints. Wis. 5:4 f.

Therefore we have erred from the way of truth, and the light of justice bath not shined unto us, and the sun of understanding has not risen upon us. We wearied ourselves in the way of iniquity and destruction, and have walked through hard ways: but the way of the Lord we have not known. What has pride profited us? Or what advantage bath the boasting of riches brought us? All those things are passed away like a shadow. Wis. 5:7-9.

The sinners in Sion are afraid, trembling bath seized upon the hypocrites. Which of you can dwell with devouring fire? which of you shall dwell with everlasting burnings? Is. 33:14.

There came down fire from God out of heaven, and devoured them: and the devil, who seduced them, was cast into a pool of fire and brimstone, where both the beast and the false prophet shall be tormented day and night forever and ever. Apoc. 20:9 f.

They shall go into everlasting punishment. Mat. 25:46.

The chaff he will burn with unquenchable fire. Mat. 3: 12.

There is none that can deliver out of my hand. Deut. 32:39.




The Lord knows how to deliver the godly from temptation, but to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be tormented: and especially:

1. them who walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness,
2. and despise government,
3. audacious,
4. pleasing themselves,
5. they fear not to bring In sects,
6. blaspheming
7. Rioting in their feasts with you,
8. having eyes full of adultery and of sin that ceases not,
9. alluring unstable souls,
10. having their hearts exercised with covetousness. 2 Pet. 2:9 f.,13 f. NAB, DR.

Know ye this and understand that

1. no fornicator,
2. nor unclean,
3. nor covetous person (which Is the serving of Idols),
has inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Eph. 5:6.

As they liked not to have God in their knowledge: God delivered them up to a reprobate sense, to do those things which are not convenient, being filled with all iniquity, malice, fornication, avarice, wickedness, full of envy, murder, contention, deceit, malignity, whisperers, detractors, hateful to God, contumelious, proud, haughty, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, foolish, dissolute, without affection, without fidelity, without mercy.

Who, having known the justice of God, did not understand that they, who do such things, are worthy of death: and not only they that do them, but they also that consent to them that do them. Rom. 1:28-32

Without are dogs, and sorcerers, arid unchaste, and murderers, and servers of idols, and every one that loves and makes a lie. Apoc. 22:15.

The fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolators, and all liars, they shall have their portion in the pool burning with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. Apoc. 21:8.

Remember that any sin can be forgiven. See, CCC 1440 ff. Studying the biblical teaching on hell can hlep someone to repent. It is "imperfect" contrition, but genuine. See, CCC 1453 and contrition in general in the Catholic Catechism.  You may look at the act" of contrition, and an examination of conscience.
